What Can I Expect From My Treatment?
At your first session, we aim for you to fully understand your situation and be clear how to manage it. We home in on your problems, develop ways of reducing your pain and improving your function right away. We’ll also give you some self-treatment to continue at home.
What Will My Self-Treatment Involve?
Our assessment will tell us what you need to do at home. It could be training yourself to react differently to a set of circumstances or to make you fitter to cope with demands or even to ease off and rest.
Your homework will always be clear, simple, quick and effective. If isn’t it’ll be boring and you’ll be unlikely to keep it up.
Will I Have To Undress?
We often need to see the relevant body part when we do an assessment. For a shoulder or neck problem, ladies can wear a vest top. For lower limb and back problems, shorts are appropriate. It’s important you’re comfortable and that you let me know how you feel.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
We aim to give you the minimum number of treatments to get the maximum benefit. We’ll be able to give you a better idea after your assessment as it depends on a number of factors. I’ll always be straight with you about how much treatment you need.
How Long Are Appointments?
A standard appointment will always last at least 30 minutes. This is usually enough if you have a recent pain issue. If you’ve had your problem for longer than three months we know many factors can affect your pain. This needs up to an hour to accurately understand your problem and make a treatment plan.

There is metered Pay and Display on-street parking or you can park in the Triangle or Magdalen Road car parks. Unfortunately, patient parking is not available in the Medical Centre.
How Can I Pay For Treatment?
I accept cash and debit cards at the time of treatment, BACS payments and all major insurance companies.
Do I Need To Bring Anything?
- Wear comfy clothing so you can move about easily and take something off if you need to.
- Any scans, X-ray reports, GP or consultant letters or diagnoses.
- Any insurance policy authorisation numbers.
- An open mind and a willingness to try new approaches
What Happens If I Forget My Appointment?
We operate a cancellation policy (link). We do all we can to help you remember your appointment by sending text and email reminders.
If you arrive late we’ll try to give you as much time as we can but this could be limited by subsequent patient bookings.
